Many thanks to Dr. Ryan Martin, Associate Dean for the College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences at UW-Green Bay, for sharing with Green Bay West Rotary his research in anger and how to use our anger for positive change. Martin explained the natural emotional responses humans have that cause us to feel anger.
Are we hungry, tired, already upset about something else? It great to know that our own awareness of the triggers can help us channel our anger in more positive ways. Martin’s new book, Why We Get Mad: How to Use Your Anger for Positive Change, delves into the issue deeper and also explores how race and gender shape society’s perceptions of who is allowed to get angry.
