## For Immediate Release ##
The Green Bay West Rotary Club, in cooperation with Curative Connections, is embarking on an ambitious program to transport individuals over the age of 60 to COVID vaccination sites.

Rotary Rides will provide free transportation to seniors through Curative Connections’ transportation services. The Green Bay West Rotary Club will provide funding to support the program with Curative Connections providing the ride service. The Club hopes to fund over 500 rides.

"Curative Connections is grateful for our partnership with the Green Bay Rotary West club," said Curative Connections president Steve McCarthy. "Our shared vision is that everyone in our area is vaccinated against COVID-19. The Rotary club is helping to make that possible through their generous support."

Green Bay West Rotary club member Dennis Rader explained why the West Side Rotary decided to get involved with COVID vaccination efforts:

"Rotary initiated and led the effort to eradicate polio, leading to the vaccination of 100% of the world's children. We are now stepping forward to help in the fight against COVID-19. We pledge as a Club and in collaboration with our community partners and leaders to do our part in making Green Bay COVID-19 free through the vaccination of all seniors.”

Eligible individuals must be ages 60+ from the local area that have their vaccination appointment scheduled with their local healthcare provider. The individuals may not be living in a nursing home or assisted care facility. Individuals who are part of Family Care or IRIS are not eligible for Rotary Rides. Rides are provided from a residence to the vaccination site and a return from the vaccination site to the residence. Interested individuals or organizations should contact Curative Connections at 920-227-4272 for further information or to reserve a ride.

To contribute to this effort,

Right now, the Rotary’s goal is 500 free rides but of course they could always do more, and if you want to help donate you can do that on their Venmo account it’s “GBWROTARY.” You can leave a note stating the donation is for the free rides. Mail checks to:

Thank you to Club members Dennis Rader, Dennis Wojahn and Rick Beverstein for bringing this great idea forward. If you don't know Rotary's history, the connection between Rotary and vaccines is Rotary International's goal to eradicate polio around the world -- and we're so close to knocking the disease out. Green Bay West Rotary members want to play a role in ensuring ALL community members who want the Covid-19 vaccine, can get it. We appreciate all those who are partnering with us to cover this most basic need, and for those who wish to contribute resources to this effort, thank you in advance.
